Mud + Water: Illuminating His Promises

In this faith journey, there are rivers of joy but also times of spiritual deadness. The only thing to stretch out toward is Jesus. When I am full of fear, indifference, or dwelling on my failure, I must remember that I am made to be a promise bearer, not the promise keeper. So I've decided to highlight in my bible all of God's promises that I come across, in hopes of remembering the great assurance God's covenant people have to hold onto. As I highlight His word, I pray that his promises will be illuminated in my life, and that as I read and the pages become a seeping bright yellow, I will be overcome by His grace. Join me in sharing God's promises. We can never hear them enough.

"For all who are led by the Spirit of God are sons of God. For you did not receive the spirit of slavery to fall back into fear, but you have received the Spirit of adoption as sons, by whom we cry, 'Abba! Father!' The Spirit himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God, and if children, then heirs - heirs of God and fellow heirs with Christ, provided we suffer with him in order that we may also be glorified with him." - Romans 8: 15-17
