Sew love

Hello, hi!

It's been a crazy time in this old house. Please excuse the lack of blogging -- It's been difficult to tend to my day to day little commitments that make my world go round [like morning pages, and writing/reading in general]. My mom's been here all week since Aaron's been gone, and we've been taking a "crash course" in learning all about my brother sewing machine. It's been no easy task for this gal, considering I couldn't tell a bobbin winder from a presser foot. Despite all frustrations learning about threading and tension and the many stitching possibilities, it is a joy to learn with my mom and create something I never thought I could accomplish. Life is full of those little learning moments... they certainly demand focus and stretch your brain, but it is in this process of learning that I am reminded of just how much time we waste settling for instant satisfaction. I am not the natural "project" type, so it's been a good growing time for me.

That being said, I hope your week has been filled with joy, gratitude for the hard, but rewarding moments, and quiet time for yourself. If you don't sew with needle and thread, sew with love and make it count, friends! <3

  1. what a wonderful message! i am with you on the sewing end. i am self taught, and can sorta kinda sew something, but there is a satisfaction with the end result. no matter how well it is made or not.

    enjoy your weekend!
