Dear Houston: Let's Meet

Dear Houston,

we're coming for you. I can't believe it's almost May and our days in Raleigh are numbered. I'm so nervous about our first visit and I can't seem to get the idea out of my head that from 5AM on I will have developed an official opinion of you. You'll have to forgive me if I seem a little guarded.. the reality that Raleigh isn't going to be our home for much longer is beginning to settle in and it feels rough. But I have hope and peace that this is where the Lord wants us.... and I will learn to rest in that. On the plane I may have to remind myself over and over again that this week is not a summary of my life in Houston. If we have a rocky start, it's okay. We'll get our feet on the ground.

So for now, I'm taking deep breaths, packing plenty of warm weather clothes, and praising God for new adventures... even when they're scary.

"Thanks be to God who always leads us in triumph in Christ...." - 2 Corinthians 2:14
